Artist Statement

Making art is an act of stepping into the unknown. It’s about pushing the boundaries of materials and technology to create a visual voice that intrigues the viewer. This is my goal as a multidisciplinary artist.

The complexity of forms and textures found in nature have always fascinated me from a young age. My latest body of work is a journey into an undiscovered world occupied by an imagined new genus of species. These images challenge the viewer to examine the beauty and fragility of our own natural environment more closely and the emerging technologies of our expanding digital world. What starts as hundreds of drawings on paper that flow from my subconscious, transform into finished works that at times question what is real or not. Then armed with an alchemy of disciplines that include drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital mediums, I focus on manifesting an immersive experience. An experience where the viewer becomes part of the discovery of a new world and is welcomed into the unknown.
